Please follow the link to apply for the school

 www.northyorks.gov.uk/admissions

The school will have one intake each year, in September, for those children who are four years of age on or prior to 31st August.

A home/school visit is made prior to children starting school and the term before entry children are invited to attend Parent and Toddler sessions and Welcome sessions at the school. The school will publish its maximum admission number each year.

Admission will usually be made available to all children who are four years of age on or prior to 31st August of that year, whose parents wish them to attend, and who have indicated their wish to the school on the appropriate form.

Admission will also usually be made available where vacancies exist to children between four and eleven years of age not already attending Rathmell School, whose parents express a preference for them to attend Rathmell School.

Admission will be made regardless of gender, race, disability or educational needs.

In the event that the applications exceed the maximum admission number for the year, priority will be given following the order or criteria in the school’s Admission Policy , including such things as: proximity to the school, church affiliation, siblings and family links.

If a child is refused admission on any of the criteria, parents have the right to appeal to the Admissions Appeal Panel.
