Rathmell Church of England (Voluntary Aided) Primary School is situated in the village of Rathmell near Settle. We border the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Trough of Bowland.
Our building dates back to 1875. Seven years ago, we had a major refurbishment which created additional learning areas. The school provides a stimulating learning environment contributing to enjoyable learning for all our pupils. The playground is accessed from the main building and a path leads to a playing field at the rear of the school. A garden and pond area is adjacent to school so therefore outdoor learning is a key focus.
Children are happy, supported, safe and well cared for. We strive to ensure that all children meet their full potential and have a broad and balanced curriculum.
OFSTED June 2013
“ Pupils enjoy school, are immensely proud of it and identified little they would change. One pupil summed up their opinions by saying, 'Our school is only small but it's like having one big happy family.' ”
" A warm, caring and welcoming ethos exists where adults ensure that pupils are known as individuals and are treated equally. The school is highly valued by parents. All those consulted agree the school is led and managed well and would recommend it to other parents. "
SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools ) July 2014
